Terms of service
Last updated October 17, 2026
These terms cover your use of DirtWatts, the indoor mountain bike training app and website at dirtwatts.com ("DirtWatts", "we", "us"), operated by [Legal entity name]. By creating an account or using the app you agree to them.
1. Your account
You need an account to ride. Keep your sign-in secure and tell us at hello@dirtwatts.com if you think someone else is using it. You must be at least 16, or the age of digital consent where you live.
2. Ride safely
Indoor cycling is strenuous exercise. Check with a doctor if you have any doubt about your health, set your trainer up on a stable surface, and stop if you feel unwell. DirtWatts is a training tool, not medical advice. Trail grades and resistance are simulations and can differ from the real trail.
3. Plans and payment
The free plan costs nothing. Paid plans renew automatically each month or year until cancelled. Our order process is conducted by our online reseller Paddle.com. Paddle.com is the Merchant of Record for all our orders. Paddle provides all customer service inquiries and handles returns. Sales tax and VAT are shown at checkout.
You can cancel at any time from your account. You keep paid access until the end of the period you have paid for, then your account moves to the free plan. Refunds follow our refund policy. If we change a price, we'll tell you at least 30 days before it applies to your next renewal. Founding prices stay as long as the subscription stays active.
4. Licence
We give you a personal, non-transferable licence to use the app and ride the trails your plan includes. Trails, terrain, 3D assets and software are licensed, not sold. Don't copy, scrape, resell, reverse engineer or redistribute the app, its code or its trail data, or try to get around plan limits.
5. Leaderboards and fair play
When leaderboards launch, ride honestly: accurate weight, a correctly calibrated trainer, no manipulated data. We may hide results or remove accounts that cheat.
6. Content you send us
If you send us a ride file to turn into a trail, you confirm you recorded it or have the right to share it, and you give us a worldwide, royalty-free licence to process it and publish the resulting trail in the DirtWatts library. We trim the start and end of submitted rides. Don't submit routes on private land or closed trails.
7. Availability and changes
We work to keep DirtWatts running, but it's provided "as is" and may change, pause or have bugs, especially during early access. We may add, rotate or retire trails and features.
8. Liability
To the extent the law allows, we aren't liable for indirect or consequential losses, and our total liability is limited to what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits liability that can't be limited by law, or your statutory rights as a consumer.
9. Ending your account
You can delete your account at any time. We may suspend accounts that break these terms. Sections that by their nature should survive (licence limits, liability) do.
10. Law and contact
These terms are governed by the laws of [State], USA, without affecting consumer protections where you live. Questions: hello@dirtwatts.com.
